Capture Time 2020
The photo series “Capture Time 2020,” published in The Mob Journal (New York), reflects the surreal atmosphere that has shaped everyday life since March of that year. The work explores the subtle tension, uncertainty, and underlying aggression that emerged from anxiety, restrictions, and the constant sense of unpredictability experienced during that time.
Themes such as social distancing, masks, limited public life, and the emotional weight of isolation are expressed in a loose and interpretive visual language. Rather than creating a literal documentation, the shoot was conceived as an artistic reflection of the mood of 2020 — a moment in history marked by change, confusion, and adaptation.
The project was realized through a close creative collaboration between Mokka Spectrum, who was responsible for makeup, styling, modeling, artistic direction, and overall organization of the shoot, and photographer Johannes Biedermann, whose photographic vision, artistic direction, and location scouting shaped the visual atmosphere of the series.
Together, the team created a photographic fragment of time, capturing the feeling of a year that affected people worldwide in deeply personal yet universally shared ways.
