“Magazines all too frequently lead to books and should be regarded by the prudent as the heavy petting of literature.”

American Dream
PICTON Magazine
Published in PICTON Magazine, Issue February 2019 N°39, the editorial American Dream captures a bold collision of identity, color, and contemporary fashion. Produced in Berlin, the shoot brings together the unmistakable aesthetic of designer Pia Bolte with an international cast, creating a visual story that celebrates individuality through vibrant styling and expressive silhouettes.
Known for her loud, colorful, and unapologetically playful designs, Bolte’s work draws heavily from American pop culture, vintage influences, and a fearless approach to pattern and texture. In American Dream, these elements meet personal heritage and character, turning the editorial into more than a fashion spread — it becomes a statement about self-expression without limits.
The series features international fashion model Mokka Spectrum alongside model Kaja Jenaro, whose contrasting looks enhance the visual dialogue of the story. Together, they embody the spirit of the editorial, where bold styling meets strong personality, and fashion becomes a form of attitude rather than decoration.
Behind the camera, photographer Reiner Wolpers captures the energy of the collection with a clean yet dynamic visual language, allowing the garments to take center stage while preserving the spontaneous, almost cinematic atmosphere of the shoot. The result is a series of images that reflect both the freedom of American-inspired fashion and the experimental spirit of the Berlin creative scene.
American Dream stands as a collaboration of fashion, photography, and personality — a reminder that style is at its strongest when it is unapologetically individual.
